Well… there’s a massive reinstall ongoing here.
This due to HDD failure (bad clusters and continuous system freezing under windows)
A 48 bit LBA (160 GB) was the chosen solution, but … well, FDISK didn’t like it, Scandisk and defrag tools neither (required win2000 SP3 or WinXP SP1).
Suse 10 didn’t like the new config (too many partitions? Two primary active partition on the two hard disk? Things to investigate
).
How did I manage to reinstall in such conditions maybe will be discussed elsewhere. Btw windows requires scandisk before installations
However reinstalling all the stuff I had is hell, and copying data from old disk to new one isn’t so fast. 4 GB ~ 40 minutes.
There are at least 50 gb to move ’cause old HD NEEDS BADLY at least further checks and zeroes overwriting
Btw there’s a third older HD hanging around …
