Victory! No more Google plus compulsory account for services

Postby Juanm » Tuesday July 28th, 2015 14h17:46

From google blog
People have told us that accessing all of their Google stuff with one account makes life a whole lot easier. But we’ve also heard that it doesn’t make sense for your Google+ profile to be your identity in all the other Google products you use.

So in the coming months, a Google Account will be all you’ll need to share content, communicate with contacts, create a YouTube channel and more, all across Google. YouTube will be one of the first products to make this change, and you can learn more on their blog. As always, your underlying Google Account won’t be searchable or followable, unlike public Google+ profiles. And for people who already created Google+ profiles but don’t plan to use Google+ itself, we’ll offer better options for managing and removing those public profiles. ... place.html

And again, from youtube blog

YouTube will no longer require a Google+ profile when you want to upload, comment, or create a channel. If you’re happy with everything as it is now, then just keep on keepin’ on. If you want to remove your Google+ profile, you’ll be able to do this in the coming months, but do not do it now or you’ll delete your YouTube channel (no bueno).

So: no more G+ account for many things, only a plain and potentially unsearchable google account.

So peeps wanting to show their real name and their personal stuff will stay locked on fb, while the others will have definitely more rooms.

As an old google account owner, I don't know if the G+ was forced to me or if I was exempt. I will see in the next months
