IE 6 is too old ...

Postby Juanm » Saturday January 30th, 2010 16h32:49

Google Docs blog wrote:Many other companies have already stopped supporting older browsers like Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 as well as browsers that are not supported by their own manufacturers. We're also going to begin phasing out our support, starting with Google Docs and Google Sites on March 1st. So while you'll still be able to access these Google applications, newer features may not be available and some features may even stop working.

As reported on BBC,a remote code execution vulnerability in IE was used to target human right activists' GMail account back in December 2009.

Unfortunately Microsoft will quit support for IE6 only in 2014.

Btw here IE6 isn't supported at last since 2008, 'cause it's not able to render properly semitransparent PNGs without additional work.
However we noted that
  • 3.73% of users last month entered here using IE6
  • IE6 rate during last year was 14.35%
  • we had a 0.087% of users entering here during last year with scary IE 5.x

Please ... update your own software :hot:
