This time was necessary to figure out what type of burden was charged on webmasters by European Commission and by italian privacy regulator about the (not-so) evil cookies. They were threatening fines which can go until 120000 euros (about 135000 USD) for non-compliant sites owner.
In the meantime we decided to go for a major site upgrade and to use a bit of common sense. Closing down all the stuff due to some dinosaurs move should only be regarder as stupid.
- The 1st area being reopened was download area, with the new spanking phpBB Ascraeus 3.1.4 on June 15th. That zone was then upgraded to phpBB 3.1.5 on June 21st.
- Then the blog and the CMS on June 22nd, with the awful banner and the horrible ads block
- At last, on June 29th, the main board.
The gallery was the last piece to be reopened due to conversion issues.
